Perhaps you are wondering what specialist can help you dealing with some facial cosmetic changes. We do procedures for facial renewal, using dermafillers and botox.

Dermafillers

Dermafillers are dermal products which contribute to the correction of facial wrinkles and folds, such as nasolabial folds, deep smile lines, smoker's lines around the lips, cheek contour depressions, ect.

They contain hyaluronic acid – a substance in the skin which diminishes over years. In result of the hyaluronic loss the skin reduces in volume and some wrinkles and folds appear. If more of the substance is added to the skin, the process is reversed. This way the skin restores its volume and fullness. Dermafillers work also for lips restoration or lip "pump-up". Dermafillers need to be injected regularly. Typical examples of dermafillers are Restylane, Juvederm, Perlane and Prevelle.

Botox

Botox is now commonly used by cosmetic dentists in facial rejuvenation procedures allowing for non surgical facial lift. Botox is a substance that is used against lines from frowning and squinting. As a matter of fact wrinkles appear in result of the containing in the skin collagen wearing out after the overly active movement of some muscles. The botulinium toxin relaxes these muscles, smoothes out lines and prevents from wrinkles' occurrence.

A very small amount of botox is injected with a tiny needle directly into the muscles that cause expression lines. The procedure is painless and only takes about ten minutes. The area of intervention will be numbed with local anesthetic. The improvement is noticeable within three to four days when the skin gets smoother. You will still be able to frown or / and look surprised but there will not be wrinkles or creases between your brows as the muscle activity is only turned down. The effect of the procedures lasts from 3 to 6 months depending on the skin. Usually the treatment is repeated in a certain period (3-4 months) with respect to the desired outcome (wrinkles-free look). An equivalent to the botox is the Dysport, which leads to longer results.

Botox's side effects: Localized pain, infection, swelling, redness, inflammation, temporary nausea.

On the other hand, you might be surprised that it reduces the frequency of migraines due to the Botulinum toxin type A containing in it (in Botox and Dysport). You can forget about the pain killers. For more information on the topic, refer to the American Association for the Study of Headache in Boston.

Some notes:
Botox must not be used in case of local infections or probable allergic reaction to some of the injection's ingredients.

Botox will not change dramatically your facial appearance or make you look totally expressionless.
